1. Joe Johnson - My favorite jock of all time. This guy has won over 1,000 races and won a Pair of Grade 1's with On Fire Baby. This rider has the best clock in the game in my mind watched him wire fields going 24 48 1:12, and I've seen him back off and close from last to first in fractions of 22 45 1:09
2. Martin Garcia - with over 1600 career wins this guy has made me some money. Over the years he has been Bob Baffert's top jockey including winning the 2014 Breeders Cup Classic with Bayern and the 2010 Preakness with Looking at Lucky. This guy also gave a perfect ride in the 2017 TVG Pacific Classic Stakes Grade 1 with a $1,000,000 Purse at Del Mar. recently moved his tack from California to Arkansas in winter and Kentucky rest of year.
3. Edwin Maldonado - this rider is a young aggressive jockey that has made a top jockey on the California colony. The best jockey on the lead in racing.
4. Jon Court - Best older vet in racing mainly in KY.
1. Mike Smith - I think that Mike Smith is by far the most overrated jockey around. His ride on Zee Bros in the Derby Trail in 2013 was one of the worst rides I have ever seen. Where he rushed his horse up into fractions of 22.05 and a half of 45.07 and refused to ride his horse around the turn. I have watched Mike Smith set wicked fractions in the Kentucky Derby when in 2012 he set crazy fraction with Bodemeister set fractions of 22.32 and went the half in 45.39, he was ran down to finish 2nd. In the 2013 Ky Derby he rode Palace Malice and set fractions of Danzing Candy to the opening quarter of 22.58 and a half of 45.72 in 2016. Mike Smith has no clock in his head. When you look at his rides on some of the best horses he is always wide. This is a jockey that has to ride a 1/9 and be hooked 5 wide. If he has the best horse he will win but if not he does not make a horse better at all.
